Onco+ service is still being offered, thanks to impressive outcomes

Attempting to find a suitable clinical trial is a monumental task, especially for cancer patients, who suffer from a disease that groups together over a hundred sub-diseases. To address this issue and meet a need voiced by those battling cancer, Q-CROC, in collaboration with the Quebec Cancer Foundation, created Onco+, a free companionship service designed to help people with cancer identify potentially suitable clinical trials and support them in this regard.

Onco+ can help people facing cancer (or their loved ones) who want to learn more about clinical research or trials conducted in Quebec. At present, over 700 clinical trials concerning various types of cancer and cancer phases are underway in the province. You can request information online or speak with a nurse from the Info-cancer hotline by calling 1 800 363-0063, extension 115.

A huge thank you! You were there at the right time, just as we found ourselves alone and adrift. Thank you for providing us information on possible solutions.” – A caregiver who recently turned to Onco+.

“The Foundation is proud to continue partnering with Q-CROC to bring this initiative to life. Onco+ allows those fighting cancer to speak directly with a specialized nurse from the Foundation who not only offers a sympathetic ear, but can also provide callers with information on the disease as well as refer them to other potentially helpful resources.” – Marco Décelles, General Manager, Quebec Cancer Foundation.

“By combining our expertise with that of the Foundation, Onco+ can enable more cancer patients to access clinical trials. During the project’s pilot phase, we were able to help close to 70 people in but a few months – and this is only the beginning! The demand for our service is real, and we even have people from outside of Québec and Canada inquiring about our service.” – Lucie D’Amours, General Manager, Q-CROC
